Trump Orders Sinking of Iranian Vessels in Hormuz Mine-Laying Operation

On April 23, President Trump ordered the U.S. Navy to immediately sink Iranian vessels laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump asserted that the United States maintains complete control of the strait and noted that Iran would earn $500 million daily if the waterway remained open. Simultaneously, Trump announced a three-week extension of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire.
