Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire Extended Three Weeks; Hormuz Strait Blockade Persists

President Trump announced a three-week extension of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire and invited ambassadors from both nations to the White House. However, U.S. military planners are reviewing options to strike civilian energy infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz if the ceasefire collapses. As of April 24, Brent crude closed at $105.33 per barrel and WTI at $94.40 (-1%). Transit volumes through Hormuz remain significantly below pre-war levels of 20 million barrels per day.
