April PCE headline 3.8% / core 3.3% pressures hawkish stance; Warsh's June FOMC trial begins
BEA's April PCE release on 5/28 came in at +0.4% MoM and 3.8% YoY — the highest since May 2023. Core PCE landed at 0.2% / 3.3%, the highest since October 2023. While monthly momentum eased slightly, the stickiness in the annual figure is hardening, and the 10Y yield holds at 4.47% with the 30Y in a 5.03~5.18% range. With Chair Warsh's first FOMC scheduled for June 16-17, Polymarket and CME FedWatch are pricing a 97% hold probability — effectively wiping out cut bets.
